How to Use Your Boolean Search String

Paste the Google string directly into Google search. This finds public LinkedIn profiles without needing Recruiter access.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between OR and AND?
OR logic finds profiles that match ANY of the terms (broader search). AND logic requires ALL terms to be present (narrower, more specific search). Use OR for job title variations, AND for required skills.
Can I search for years of experience?
Boolean strings search text in profiles, not structured data. Use LinkedIn's built-in "Years of Experience" filter instead. Focus your Boolean string on titles, skills, and keywords that appear in profile text.
Why isn't my Google X-Ray search working?
Make sure you're including site:linkedin.com/in at the start. Google may also limit results if your search is too complex. Try simplifying or breaking it into multiple searches.
Should I always use quotation marks?
Use quotation marks for exact phrases (e.g., "Product Manager"). Skip them for single words or when you want to catch variations. "React Developer" is more precise than React Developer.
How do I refine my search if I get too many results?
Add more required skills with AND logic, exclude common companies with NOT, or use more specific job title variations. You can also use LinkedIn's filters for company size, industry, and seniority.
Can I save my Boolean strings?
This tool doesn't save searches, but you can copy the generated strings to a document or spreadsheet. LinkedIn Recruiter also lets you save searches with Boolean strings included.
